Microblading
Microblading is a tattooing technique which uses a small handheld tool made of several tiny needles to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin. Microblading differs from standard eyebrow tattooing, a form of permanent makeup, as each hair stroke is created by hand with a blade that creates fine slices in the skin, whereas eyebrow tattoos are done with a tattoo machine.
Powder Brow
A powdered brow is the closest look to an eyebrow pencil. A powdered tattoo brow give a light shading to the brows with more coverage and consistency. There are different looks to powdered brow and these looks are achieved with different tattoo needle sizes. A shader tattoo needle gives a light shading and softness to the brow, filling in the gaps and reshaping the brows to the desired look. A smaller tattoo needle gives more of a dramatic, precise outcome that adds clean shape and lines to the eyebrows.
3D/ombre/Nano
There many different names for this type of eyebrow but it is a combination of hairline stokes and a powdered brow. This the most popular choice of the eyebrow procedure! This look is also known as an Ombre Brows, Gradient Brows or Precision Eyebrows. The hairline strokes at the beginning of the eyebrows (closest to the nose) give the brow a soft natural look that transitions into the arch and tail. The powdered arch and tail gives the brows more definition and shape which opens the eyes and lifts the brow bone.
Combo Brow
Combo brows are also a type of permanent makeup brow tattoo, done with pigments. They are a combination of two techniques – hair strokes and shading.
Hairline Nano/3D
This is the most natural look for permanent makeup eyebrow application. Hairline strokes look like the microblade, only Erin uses tattoo or permanent makeup equipment to implant the pigment. This method will allow your permanent makeup to last longer with fewer touchup applications or scar tissue buildup. The hairline stokes give the look of eyebrow hair, with the tattooed hairline strokes positioned in between the clients natural eyebrow hair. This gives a fullness, natural look to eyebrows.
Ombre Shading
Ombré shading is the process by which a small machine is used to place extremely thin dots of pigment along the brows to create the illusion of definition and depth. While it is still placing dots of pigments, the benefit of ombre shading is that it is done in a way that looks like naturally filled-in brows. As it's done with the help of a machine, this technique last longer than other eyebrow processes and only requires a few touch-up appointments. The average lifespan of this technique stands around two to three years.
